PropSurf offers an interactive online information service for the real estate industry (the “Service(s)”). In order to provide the Services and offer a personalized browsing experience, PropSurf may collect personal information from you (“Personal Information”). The term ‘Personal Information’ means information that you provide to us which personally identifies you to be contacted or identified, such as your name, phone number, email address, and any other data that personally identifies you.

For the purpose of clarity, the PropSurf website located at www.propsurf.com shall be referred to as the “Site”. The PropSurf mobile application on platforms such as Android, IOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone and Symbian shall be referred to as the “Application”, while the Site and the Application are collectively referred to as

This Privacy Policy applies to your use of PropSurf but does not apply to any third party websites or mobile applications that may be linked to PropSurf or any other relationships you may have with the businesses listed on PropSurf.

Information we use and how we collect it

When you visit PropSurf or avail of our Services, we collect and store information about you, your Device (as defined below) and your activities. This information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Your computer’s IP address; technical information about your Device (such as type of Device, web browser or operating system).
  • Your Device’s unique ID number (when available); your Device’s geographic location (specific geographic location if you’ve enabled collection of that information, or general geographic location automatically).
  • Your account information including but not limited to your provided full name, email address, zip code and other information you may provide with your account, such as your gender and birth date. Your profile picture that will be publicly displayed as part of your account profile. You may optionally provide us with this information through third party sign-in services such as Facebook Connect and Google Plus. In such cases, we fetch and store whatever information is made available to us by you through these sign-in services.
  • We also store your preferences and settings (time zone, language, etc.), on our servers and locally on your Device to provide you a consistent experience over repeat visits to the Service.
  • Your content including but not limited to the information that you post on PropSurf, such as your reviews, photos, comments, likes, lists, followers, the Members you follow, and your account profile.
  • The URL of the last web page you visited before visiting PropSurf or URL’s visited while visiting the PropSurf.
  • The search terms you have looked up and results you selected; how long you visited PropSurf and which features you used.
  • Communications between you and other Members or merchants through our Service; the ads you clicked on.
  • Your transactional information in relation to your activity on PropSurf. If you make enquiries or ask questions through PropSurf, we may collect and store some information about you to process your requests and automatically complete forms in the future. These may include data including (but not limited to) your name, phone number, address and email ID. This information may be shared with third parties who help process and fulfil your requests. If you ask questions, write reviews, post blogs, messages and images through the Service, we may publicly display such information.

We use the information to improve the Service's functionality, quality and also personalize your experience. We also use this information to display relevant advertising, provide support, message you, and comply with legal obligations.

Please note that some of this information is automatically collected without you voluntarily choosing to provide this information to us.

Information from other sources/social networking sites

You can also engage with our content, such as video, applications, and other offerings, on or through (1) third-party social networking websites and applications, such as Facebook, (2) third-party social media plug-ins and applications, and (3) our social media plug-ins and applications that may be available through third-party sites or our Services. You may also choose to link your account with us to third party social networking sites. When you link your account or engage with our content on or through third party social networking sites, social media plug-ins or applications, you may allow us to have ongoing access to certain information from your social media profile (including but not limited to name, e-mail address, photo, gender, birthday, location, your list of friends, people you follow and/or who follow you, the posts or the 'likes' you make). We may also maintain non-Personal Information (including but not limited to content viewed, information about advertisements within the content you have been shown or may have clicked on) from your interaction with PropSurf.

When you provide information from your social media profile, it can help enable us to do things like (1) give you exclusive content, (2) personalize your online experience with us within and outside our applications or websites, and (3) contact you through the social networking sites or directly with the latest news, special offerings, and rewards. By doing so, you consent to the use of this information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. When you post information on blogs, public forums or similar functions at our Site, or when you interact with PropSurf through social networking sites (depending on your privacy settings), social media plug-ins or similar applications, this information could be seen by anyone on the internet. Therefore, we cannot prevent further use of this information. You can control what data you share through privacy settings available on some social networking sites. Data Retention and Account Termination

You can close your PropSurf account by visiting your profile settings page on our website, although we may retain information about you or public posts made by you for the purposes authorized under this Privacy Policy unless prohibited by law.

How We Protect Your Information

PropSurf uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards and protocol to preserve the integrity and security of your Personal Information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to PropSurf or guarantee that your information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

Use of Demographic / Profile Data / Your Information

We may distribute your submissions to third parties wherever applicable, or required. The third parties may in turn publicly display or publish your submissions in connection with their own websites and media platforms. When we distribute your submissions to third parties, we would typically include your user name.

With regard to posting of comments / submissions, you specifically agree that you shall abide by the Terms and Conditions of Use. We also reserve the right to decide whether content or a submission made by you is appropriate and complies with the Terms and Conditions of Use and also does not infringe any applicable laws. We reserve the right to remove any such content where we have grounds for suspecting the violation of these terms without prior notice and at out our sole discretion.

We may share your Personal Information with third parties to provide you with services that we offer through PropSurf, conduct quality assurance testing, facilitate creation of accounts, provide technical and customer support, or provide specific services, such as synchronization of your contacts with other software applications, in accordance with your instructions.

We may share your Personal Information with our parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under a common control (collectively, "Affiliates") that we may have now or in the future, in which case we will require them to honour this Privacy Policy. If another company acquires our company or our assets, that company will possess your Personal Information, and will assume the rights and obligations with respect to that information as described in this Privacy Policy.

We may disclose your Personal Information to third parties in a good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) take action regarding suspected illegal activities; (b) enforce or apply our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; (c) comply with legal process, such as a search warrant, statutory, or court order; or (d) protect our rights, reputation, and property, or that of our Members, affiliates, or the public. Please note that we are not required to question or contest the validity of any search warrant, subpoena or other similar governmental request that we receive.

We may disclose information in the aggregate to third parties relating to Member behaviour in connection with actual or prospective business relationship with those third parties, such as advertisers and content distributors.


We send cookies to your computer in order to uniquely identify your browser and improve the quality of our Services. The term ‘cookies’ refers to small pieces of information that a website sends to your computer’s hard drive while you are viewing PropSurf. We may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them). Persistent cookies can be removed by following your browsers help file directions. If you choose to disable cookies, some areas of PropSurf may not work properly or at all. PropSurf uses third party tools and analytics, which may collect anonymous information about your visits to PropSurf. Such third parties may also use information about your visits to PropSurf and other websites/applications to target advertisements for the Services. No Personal Information is collected or used in this process. These third parties do not know or have access to the name, phone number, address, email address, or any Personal Information about PropSurf’s Members. Members can opt-out of sharing this information with third parties by deactivating cookies, the process of which varies from browser to browser.


PropSurf may contain links to third parties to which we have no affiliation. Except as set forth herein, we do not share your Personal Information with those third parties, and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We suggest you read the privacy policies on all such third party websites/applications as we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies whatsoever as we have no control over them. Also, we do not represent the correctness, accuracy, adequacy reliability or suitability of the information stored on such third party websites.

E-mails and opt-out

You may opt-out of receiving any messages or newsletters from us by changing your notification settings under the "Account" tab after you log on to PropSurf. Unregistered Members who receive e-mails from us may also opt-out of receiving further e-mails by following the instructions contained in our e-mails.

Reason for permissions needed on PropSurf mobile applications

Reading your address book is required if you need to share the Application with your friends (explicit permission will be sought before this) SMS permissions are required if you need to share the Application with your friends (again, explicit permission will be sought before this) Your contact information is sought to enable one click sign-up (with explicit permissions from PropSurf) while inside the Application.

Controlling your personal data

To the extent you include Personal Information in your submissions (such as a photo of yourself), third parties may be able to identify you, and associate you with your user account, and contact you. Third parties can also associate you with your user account using the member lookup feature on PropSurf, but only if the third party already knows your full name and you include information in your submission that allows the third party to distinguish you from other Members who might share the same full name. Please do not include information in your submissions that you expect to keep private. We shall not be responsible for any misuse / unauthorized use by such third parties.

Information About Your Location

When you access PropSurf on a mobile phone or tablet device ("Device"), we will collect and use information about you in broadly the same way and for substantially similar purposes as when you use the Site. In addition, we may collect information about your location, if you have instructed your Device to send such information to the Application, via the privacy settings on that Device, or if you have uploaded photos tagged with location information. We will use the location information collected from your Device or photos to enhance your use of the Application. For example, we may use your location to show you reviews of properties near you. You can change the privacy settings of your Device at any time, in order to turn off the functionality to share location information with the Application and/or the functionality to tag your photos with location information. If you have any queries about the privacy settings of your Device, we suggest you contact the manufacturer of your Device or your mobile service provider for help.

Children's privacy

PropSurf is a general audience service and does not offer services directed towards children. Should an individual whom we know to be a child under age 18 send Personal Information to us, we will delete or destroy such information as soon as reasonably possible.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

If we change our privacy policies and procedures, we will post those changes on this page to keep you aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we may disclose it. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page. If you continue to use the Site or the Application after notice of changes have been sent to you or published on this page, you hereby provide your consent to the changed practices.


No method of transmission over the Internet or via mobile device, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

You hereby acknowledge that PropSurf is not responsible for any intercepted information sent via the internet, and you hereby release us from any and all claims arising out of or related to the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.
